Chelsea & Lyon

Following the FA Cup final on Saturday,Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wasn’t a happy man.

While the Italian had a couple of gripes about decisions which went in Arsenal’s favour in the final, he was also focused on how there is a need for Chelsea to strengthen significantly in the summer transfer market.

It’s likely to be a busy summer at Stamford Bridge, as Conte tries to bring in a gang of quality additions while casting out some of the dead wood.

One of the players who could be set to leave th club is 21-year-old striker Bertrand Traore, who has spent the past year on loan at Ajax.

What’s the story?

Traore scored 13 goals for Ajax last season, while he’s under contract at Chelsea until 2019.

It feels hugely unlikely that Traore will manage to force his way into Chelsea’s first team setup next season, and that could mean the forward heads to Ligue 1.

RMC Sport are claiming that Lyon are considering a summer swoop for Traore, as the Blues seek 20 million euros for the Burkino Faso international.

Traore, however, is listed as the second option for Lyon if they miss out of their top target: Bayer Leverkusen’s Mexican star Javier Hernandez.

Lyon have reportedly bid 12 million euros for Chicharito, who is out of contract at Bayer at the end of next season.
