Chelsea are prepared to make Eden Hazard their highest-paid player by offering the Belgium star a new contract worth £320,000 a week, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the Blues are determined to tie the 26-year-old down to a new contract as they look to stave off reported interest from Champions League winners Real Madrid.
Hazard last week spoke of his desire to stay at Chelsea for at least another “couple of years” and it seems that the Blues are out to reward the playmaker for his loyalty.
The Belgian still has three years left to run on his current deal at Chelsea, which is believed to be worth around £200,000 a week.
But Chelsea are ready to give him a substantial pay-rise in order to convince him to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer.
The proposed new deal would make Hazard the highest-paid player in the Premier League, with Paul Pogba currently earning around £290,000 a week at Manchester United.
Hazard scored 16 Premier League goals for Chelsea this season as he helped them win the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first season charge at the club.
