Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting very over-excited about the players who could be arriving at Stamford Bridge over the summer months as manager Antonio Conte looks to get a side ready to take on the Champions League having already one the Premier League in his first season.
It seems one very big deal could be coming closer after reports from Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claim that the Blues are preparing an offer for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci.
The £38.25m-rated defender, however, will not be let go by the Old Lady easily with the Serie A champions holding out for at least £61m.
Conte, however, seems desperate to get a deal over the line for the 30-year-old, who made 113 Juventus appearances under the now Chelsea boss, having supposedly had Blues officials meet Bonucci’s agent in London this week.
With John Terry leaving the club our landlord reckons that a centre-half will be the top priority for the powers that be in west London this summer, especially considering Conte will undoubtedly stick with a back three in the new season.
Chelsea fans, we want to hear from you! How excited are you by the prospect of seeing Bonucci at Stamford Bridge next season? Let us know in the comments below…
