If you have an uncomplicated stomach pain, these natural remedies can help bring relief from the pain and discomfort.
Ginger root tea: Ginger a natural anti-inflammatory agent, contains natural chemicals that helps relax and soothe muscle, such as the muscles that line the intestinal track and relieves stomach pain. Wash and finely chop 1-2 inches of fresh ginger root into 1-2 cups of clean water and boil for three minutes and then simmer for two minutes more. Strain and add honey to taste, sip slowly and relax.
Rice tea (water): It sounds iffy, but, rice water has been proved to ease an upset stomach or pained stomach or stop diarrhea. Make rice ‘tea.’ Boil half cup of rice in six cups of water for about 15 minutes, strain out the rice, then add a dash of honey into the water and drink warm. Remember to wash the rise before boiling.
Warm lemon water: The high acidity level of lemon stimulates the production of hydrochloric acid, which breaks down our food. Taking a cup of freshly squeezed lemon into a cup of warm water and sipping slowly can ease stomach pain.
Heat: Heat helps to relive stomach pain. Place a hot water bottle or heating pad on your pined stomach. The heat increases blood flow to the skin surface, which transfers the pain from inside your stomach to the outside.
Peppermint: Brewing a cup of fresh peppermint can help relax stomach muscles, and also chewing on the leaves themselves.
Club soda and lime: Lime like lemon can help ease stomach pain. Mix 8 ounces of club soda with the juice of half a lime, stir and sip slowly, it will help ease the pain.
If your stomach pain is accompanied by constipation combined with vomiting blood, blood stool, fever, painful or frequent urination, trouble breathing, or you experience the pain for more than 48 hours, or you are pregnant, please seek medical emergency care immediately.
